WolfWalkers

Cartoon saloon (2020)
Role: Final Line Background artist

For Wolfwalkers, the production of the backgrounds was divided into two different departments. I was part of the Final Line team, where we produced all the linework traditionally, using pencils, pens, charcoal and paint to achieve the unique style. The movie has a distinct style seperation between the town and forest. Whereas the forest is loose and fabulating, primarily done in pencil, the town style is rigid and cage-like, emulating the look of woodcut.

My Fathers Dragon

Role: Assistant Art Director, Location Designer, Scene illustrator

I came on to the project as a scene illustrator and location designer in preproduction, working in a team to design the look of the film.

As the project moved into production, i was promoted to assistant art director, where i was responsible for continously expanding on the style through concepts, painting the color keys before doing the launch of each sequence to BG, reviewing and fixing BGs, working closely with the director, the art director, the technical director, and the supervisors of BG, FX and Comp to work out visual challenges and designing with the pipeline in mind.

Toward the end of production, i was also responsible for reviewing and approving final comp scenes, as well as producing visual presskit material.
